Thrift Store/The Giving Place
Thrift Store/The Giving Place — 802 E State St, Trenton, NJ 08609
The people of the Wilbur section and the East Ward of Trenton need help with other necessities of life, besides housing. In 1989, Father Brian McCormick and neighborhood people established ‘The Clothing/Thrift Store’. In 2025, we renamed the Thrift Store ‘The Giving Place’ so as to better describe its function. The Giving Place is not really a “store” in that it is run entirely by volunteers, and the minimal proceeds go only to maintenance and replenishing. The Giving Place offers gently used clothing and household items at discounted prices, or free to certain needy people. The Giving Place is part of the community outreach segment related to the mission of BCHT.
We welcome and encourage donations of gently used clothing or household items. But we no longer do pick-ups or offer furniture.
Come by our Thrift Store to grab a bag full of quality resale clothing for just $8.00. Explore what’s in stock during our days/hours of operation (Friday, 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM; Saturday, 9:00 AM -2:00 PM) at 802 East State Street, Trenton, NJ 08609.
Holiday Giving Events — Food Baskets & Gift Sharing
Every year, BCHT provides food baskets for the needy on Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. And our annual Christmas Sharing event provides needy families with Christmas gifts and Walmart or ShopRite Gift Cards generously donated by local individuals and organizations. These celebratory efforts are diligently coordinated by our Thrift Store’s hard-working volunteers. To help out with these programs, please call (609) 222-5537.
